Two Weeks Old Today!!

Time sure flies!  Jace is two weeks old today.  We had a two week check up yesterday with Dr. M and he said we are free to put his arm through his sleeve now!  YEAH!!  He weighed 9.1 lbs.  His day usually consists of sleep and more sleep  (like the picture shows!).  He has had some good nights...the night before last he slept from 10:30 to 4:30 and back to sleep again from 5:00 until 7:30...  Too bad I didn't sleep during that long stretch...I was up every hour from 2:00 on checking on him!  I can't complain about that sleep pattern.  For the most part he sleeps in 4 hour stretches and eats anywhere from 3-4 oz. at a time.  We had our first "fussy" evening last night...I contributed it to a very busy day in Jamestown.

Snowmobilin'

Jory and Callie riding snowmobile today after school (thanks to cousin Tyler and his snowmobile...how lucky can a kid be to get to ride such a cool little snowmobile)!  Another one of Jory's LOVES!!!

1st Basketball Game...

On Tuesday night we all headed to watch the Midkota girl's and boy's play basketball. This is Jace at his first Mustang game...He snoozed the whole time...Too much excitement for a 10 day old!

My two boys...

This is a typical night with my two boys...one on my chest...the other on my side...

This is Jace's favorite spot to sleep!

Little Man...

I just thought this picture was just too cute not to post...he is so wide awake in this pic...

Jory's New Morning Routine...

Jory's New Morning Routine now includes a little "Jace Time" before he heads out the door.  He usually tries to get a little snuggle time in before heading out the door to school...

Bummer...

Although the Vikes lost a heart breaker...they are still #1 in this house!  I was surprised that Alan took the loss so well.  How could you not take it well with such a cute kids watching the game with him??? (of course just this mom's opinion)...

Times have changed...

As we sit here listening to the rain come down...hoping that the electricity stays on...and prepare for a blizzard on Sunday! This picture gives you an idea of our "hunkering down"...a computer on each kids lap and Jace snoozing away...

Times have changed since I was a kid!!

1 Week old...today...

Jace is one week old today.  He is already eating about 4 oz. at a time.  I am thinking he may be a bulldogger when he grows up!  His day consistents of eating, sleeping and messing his pants!  My kind of day ;)!

What do you think he is thinking????

We thought this was just too cute to not take a picture of...what do you think he is thinking? Some of our thoughts were...Hmmmm...should I wake up...should I eat...or should I mess my pants...hmmmm

Great Grandparents...

Not many kids are lucky enough to have two of their Great Grandparents living...

Jace with Great Grandma Mac...

Jace with Great Grandma Lorraine...

Nieces...

I have two nieces that live just over the hill from us...Lauryn is 4 and Karsyn is 2...I love to have these girls over. They are just too funny!

Lauryn is a little more reserved that Karsyn.  Karsyn has a mind of her own and knows what she wants!  I think Karsyn is gonna give her daddy a run for his money when she gets older...what do you think?

Vikings Win!

On Sunday the 17th, we had to get home from the hospital with Jace in time to watch the Vikings!  Here are a few pictures from the day.  Sandon & Sheila came and watched the game with us that day AND to see Jace.  Louis, Kristi, Lauryn, Karsyn and Kade came over later in the day.

Jace's Arrival...

Being 38 years old and on my third pregnancy...one would think that you would know when you were in labor but...this wasn't the case!  Jade and Jory were both induced and so that is the only way I knew!

The arrival of Jace McCoy goes as follows:  I had a doctor's appointment last Thursday morning and headed to Jamestown by myself  (Jade & Jory had the flu, so Alan stayed home with them) for one last final check up before my scheduled induction Saturday AM.  After my appointment I stopped at Walmart and the grocery store for a few last minute things and then headed for home by way of a stop at the High School in Glenfield, a stop at the Elementary school in Binford to sign a few checks and then finally to the post office to mail some things.  I arrived home about 3:30 to send Alan and Jory to town to get haircuts.

My doctor had told me to go home an do something active...maybe I could get the contractions started.  So, I got home, made supper, folded about 4 loads of laundry, put everyone's laundry away...you get the picture.  My house was actually clean because, thankfully, while I was in Jamestown for the day my mom was here and bleached and washed everything up since the kids had had the flu the night before!  I had been having contractions off and on for the past 3 weeks so having contractions throughout the day was nothing unusually...but after sending the kids to bed about 8:30 I told Alan I thought I would head to bed too since it had been a long day and I was tired.  So, I proceeded to head to bed and thought I should maybe lay here and check the frequency of these contractions...low and behold they were 10 minutes apart.  By the time I checked the accuracy of this a few times, it was about 9:15.  I told Alan I thought we needed to head towards Jamestown...

My folks were gone as they had headed to Fargo for some doctoring on Friday, my brother and SIL were bowling for the night...so, I called for Kelsey to come out and she was actually babysitting for my neices and nephew...Elaine to the rescue!  Thankfully, Jade and Jory were actually sleeping and didn't even know this was all going on.  By the time Elaine arrived, my water had actually broke (I didn't know...) and we were on our way, with contractions 7 minutes apart and 65 miles to go, fog and slick roads!  YIKES!!  Luckily, once we got about 20 miles away the fog lifted and the roads were not bad.  Contractions at this point...5 minutes apart...only 45 miles to go...

By the time we arrived at the hospital (40 minutes after leaving Bin-City) my contractions were 2-3 minutes apart and he was born an hour and a half later!  (I was just thankful that Alan drove like Dale Earnhardt and we actually made it to the hospital!)    Jace is perfect...healthy...10 toes, 10 fingers...only one broken collar bone that should heal quickly.  He was delivered by Dr. McMillan and Dr. Greenwood (a UND Medical Student...and it was his 1st delivery).

Alan returned home that night about 3:00 AM and was able to be at home with the kids in the morning and give them the good news!  They were surprised!  After having gone into labor on my own...I am SOOOO glad I did not have to be induced!  What a good baby Jace is and this little guy couldn't be loved more!

Here are a few pictures with the kids at the hospital...

Going Home...last Sunday AM (12/17/2010)...we needed to get home in time to watch the Vikings!

Introducing...Jace McCoy Boote

Jade and Jory are proud to announce the arrival of  their little brother, Jace McCoy Boote.  Jace was born on January 15th, 2010 at 12:23 AM.  He weighed 8 lbs. 8 oz and was 20.5 inches long.  We are so happy to finally have this little guy in our arms!  What a miracle babies are!

Fun in the Snow!

Jory's favorite season is Winter! Yes, he loves the snow so it is a good thing that he is a North Dakota boy. Here is a picture of him and one of his buddies, Ethan Utke, after "playing" in the snow one afternoon. Actually, it looks like maybe they stuck their heads in a snow bank!
