Does this fit??

This little guy can hardly wait to get out and ride...what do you think?

Sisters...

My Grandma Mac's sister Darlene (from Minneapolis) visited last week and we had them out to our house for supper.  My Grandma Mac (on the right) will be 90 in June and her sister Darlene (on the left) is 85...

Practicing...

We went to rope at Robin and Glenn's a couple weeks ago so while Jade practiced...

and Jory practiced...

Jace took it all in while cousin Cedar held him...

3 Months old...

Jace was three months old on April 15th (I am a bit behind on my bloggin)...He is still at champ at sleeping all night and a super great baby!

Crash...

With so much to do and so little time, our main way of checking pastures and fencing is with the Polaris 4 wheeler.  Back in the day, when I was a kid, this would have NEVER happened!  You checked pastures on a horse...Period!  Dad didn't see any use for a 4 wheeler.  Nowdays, we couldn't imagine a week without it.  Well, last June Alan had a mishap with his trusty steed, well, in this case...his 4 wheeler!  He had loaded the four-wheeler on the trailer without tying it down...like he had done many, many times before...and put the brake on!  While traveling down Highway 1 headed towards another pasture he looked in his rear view mirror and his 4-wheeler was going end over end on the pavement!  OUCH!  Here are some pictures of it after the crash...

Notice the handle bars...bent completely down...

Loading it back on the trailer to take it home...

Needless to say, we went the entire summer without it and really don't want to do that again!  After visiting with our insurance we came to the conclusion that this past winter we could maybe try and "Put it back together" with some replacement parts!  Here's where Tyler (my cousin) entered the picture...he is very handy with a wrench and after many hours of searching Ebay for parts and taking the 4-wheeler apart...

He now has our "fixed" machine ready for the summer!!  THANK YOU TYLER!!  You are awesome!

Buckle Display...

I asked a local carpenter, Kelly Dramstad, if he would be willing to make me a Buckle Display Case for buckles.  I purchased the piece of cow hide (the background) off of Ebay.  I brought him a picture of a case that I liked as well as a couple buckles and the cowhide a couple weeks ago.  Tonight he called and it was ready to be picked up...I LOVE IT!  So cool!  Thank you Kelly!

Jade's 11th Birthday

We celebrated Jade's 11th Birthday last Tuesday, April 6th. We had a few people over and her meal request was Hot Dogs, beans and angel food cake with strawberries or raspberries (yummy!). We had a fun night and she received many nice gifts! The previous day we had made two cakes for her to take to school and share with her class. Pictured above is her with her cakes...they are an attempt to mirror her two favorite "loves" in life...Rodeo and Basketball. The orange cake is a basketball and the brown cake is a rope can...this is the best I could do!

Jade turned 11, Jace...11 weeks and Jory 8.

Happy Birthday Jade!

2 Month Check up...

Jace had his two month check up (at 11 weeks old) last Tuesday, April 6th. Thanks to him having RSV and my work schedule, this was the soonest we could get in for his shots, etc. Jace was a real trooper although wasn't overly impressed with the 3 injectable shots and one oral vaccine that he received. He weighs 12 lbs, 11 oz and measures 24 1/4" long. He is a growing boy! His all time favorite thing right now is to coo. If you will talk to him, he will visit right back!

Happy Easter!

The kids sang in church this AM and then we all headed over to Lannes & Elaine's for brunch.  We had LOTS of food and had a nice time!  The kids had a couple easter egg hunts and then we headed home and worked in the barn and sorted some cattle.

Jesus Christ has risen today...Al-le-lu-ia!

2010 Calving

We are calving out heifers right now. Today we took Jace out to see the baby calves.   He is 11 weeks old this week!
